STEP ONE: CONTACT US
If you are looking to commission a custom piece, please email us at seekingwaxwing@gmail.com or call (917) 714-9610 to discuss your project and set up a time for an in-person consultation. The consultation is always free. Come with ideas, sketches, pictures torn out of magazines, etc. Actually, it's often better for us to come to you, get a first-hand impression of your space and brainstorm ideas on site.
STEP TWO: DESIGN STAGE
Once we have a sense of what you're looking for — in terms of practical needs, style, color, finish, budget — we'll draw up a design (or a few design options) for your approval. We will work with you on the design for as long as necessary to get it to a point where you feel certain this is the piece you want. All details (e.g., type of hardware, detailing, finish options, etc. will be worked out at this stage).
To begin the design process we require a deposit — ordinarily 25% of the roughly projected cost. If you decide not to make the piece after all, some of the deposit will be refunded: the refund amount will largely depend on the time invested.
STEP THREE:
Once the design is finalized, we will draw up a detailed cost-and-time estimate for your review, and — if there are no objections to either — we'll get to work.
step four:
We deliver the piece, and you pay us the remaining balance.
All of our products are made to last, and any flaw in the fabrication will be made good, as long as you own one of our pieces.
